How do I sign-up for mid-day dog walks or pet sitting?
Call Nancy at Doggone Purr-fect Pet Sitting (317-531-4775) and discuss with her the needs of your pets and what type of service you need. She will be happy to arrange a complimentary meeting for you with a professional pet sitter. Nancy and your pet sitter/dog walker will come to your home to get to know you, your pets, home, and routine.
Should I give the pet sitter a key at the time of the meeting?
Most clients give us a key at the time of the meeting. If the pet sitter needs to return to pick-up the key, a $15 fee will apply.
May I leave the key with the pet sitter/dog walker for future visits?
Yes. Many of our clients leave a key with the sitter on a permanent basis. We ask that we be allowed to make a second copy of the key to be left with Doggone Purr-fect Pet Sitting in the case of an emergency with the pet sitter. If you do not wish to leave a key with the pet sitter, you may ask that the key be returned or left in the home at the last visit. If you ask us to leave the key in the house, we will ask for an emergency contact person with access to your home in the event you are delayed.
What is the best way to contact Doggone Purr-fect Pet Sitting?
You may call, E-mail, or text. However, the best way to reach us is with a phone call. If you are unable to reach us by calling, we are either with a client or driving. We do check voicemail and return calls several times a day. If you reach our voice mail, please leave your name, number, the best way to reach you, and information about your pet sitting/dog walking/pet taxi needs. We will return your call even if we are unable to meet your particular pet needs. At that time, we will be happy to refer you to the service which would best help you.
When and how do I make a payment?
All payments are received in advance of the first day of the pet sitting job. If you are a dog walking client, payment is received on the first day of the week in which your dog’s walk is scheduled. We also receive payment two weeks or one month in advance for mid-day dog walks. We accept checks via mail.
What if I am a new client?
After you have met with your pet sitter, you will be billed for the scheduled pet sit or mid-day walk.
Is the information I provide Doggone Purr-fect Pet Sitting and the pet sitter confidential?
Yes, all information given to us is considered confidential and your privacy is of the utmost importance to us.
Can I request the same pet sitter?
We believe that continuity is the best policy for you and your pets. The only time another pet sitter would make the visit is in the event the original pet sitter’s schedule is full, they are out of town, or experiencing an emergency. If your pet sitter is unavailable, a meeting will be scheduled with you prior to the first visit. In the event of an emergency, we would notify you and schedule another pet sitter as you request.
May I call the pet sitter directly to schedule a vacation or mid-day walk?
We ask that all pet sits and dog walks be scheduled through Nancy at Doggone Purr-fect Pet Sitting. Please do not place our pet sitters in the uncomfortable position of being contacted directly for hire. Our staff has signed a contract prohibiting the acceptance or solicitation of pet sits, dog walks, overnight visits, or pet taxi directly from our clients. We thank you and appreciate you honoring our policy.
I am a new client and will be leaving in a couple days. Will you take care of my pets without me meeting the pet sitter?
No, I’m sorry, but for the safety of our staff, you, and your pets, we are unable to schedule a pet sit or dog walk without a prior meeting. If we are able, we are happy to schedule a “last minute” appointment for you. A $15 last minute appointment and scheduling fee will apply.
Will you be able to administer medication to my pet?
Yes, we are happy to do so if we are safely able to administer medicine and your pet does not pose a threat to the safety of the pet sitter.
Do you board animals in your home?
No, we make two to three visits a day to your home. If you prefer boarding, we will be happy to refer you to a boarding facility.
Do you have a required minimum number of days for weekly dog walking?
We require a two day minimum. However, if we are able, we will schedule an occasional dog walk with a 48 hour notice.
Do you walk dogs on the weekend?
Yes, this is a service we provide.
What if I run out of pet food, medicine, or supplies while I am on vacation or away on business?
We will be happy to purchase the items for you for a restocking fee plus the cost of items purchased.
Do you have a holiday fee?

May I leave a gratuity for my pet sitter/dog walker?

How much notice to you need to schedule a pet sit or dog walk?
